On the 14th of June of every year, Rosabon Financial Services joins the rest of the world to celebrate the World Blood Donor Day by sensitizing the public on the benefits and need to donate safe blood. Members of staff of the leading non-banking financial institution in Nigeria also join the public in donating blood as part of their Corporate Service Responsibility (CSR).
With over 25 years of experience in the financial industry, we are able to achieve this feat yearly by partnering with the Lagos State Blood Transfusion Committee of the State’s Ministry of Health, who provide the necessary medical apparatus to screen volunteers and ensure they are medically fit and free from all sort of infection transmittable through blood transfusion before they proceed to donate blood. The Lagos State Blood Transfusion Committee would also be in charge of this year’s blood donation exercise which would be held at the Island Maternity Hospital.
The theme for this year’s World Blood Donor Day campaign has been tagged “Blood Donation as an Action of Solidarity” with the slogan “Be there for someone else. Give blood. Share life” by the World Health Organization (WHO) and they both highlight one of the values we hope to continuously achieve with the blood drive.
Remember you don’t have to wear a cape to become a hero, you can “Be a hero, donate blood. The life you save may be yours”.
